Condition Surveys
Bletchley Park
In 2023-2034 we collaborated with Quantity Surveyors at Jackson Coles to produce a Condition Survey of 34 buildings in the Bletchley Park Trust museum. “Bletchley Park, once the top-secret home of the World War Two Codebreakers, is now a museum and vibrant heritage attraction open daily, managed by the Bletchley Park Trust”.
The buildings in the Bletchley Park estate range from the Victorian mansion block centrepiece to wartime industrial buildings. Many of teh industrial buildings are comprised of timber sheds originally intended to be temporary but now require to be preserved as part of the museum. A selection of these buildings hold distinct heritage value and have been Listed.
Our role was to identify and prioritise critical disrepair and present associated costs for the application of preservation funds.
Barbican
In 2023 we undertook a Condition Survey of the Barbican Centre as part of the Renewal project. The Barbican was built in the 1960s and 70s and “the Barbican Centre was part of a visionary plan from architects Chamberlin, Powell and Bon to radically transform how we experience buildings and cities”. The Barbican is full of unique and creative construction techniques that are now over 40 years old and are due life cycle replacements.
Our role was to survey and establish the existing life cycle replacement demands in order to inform the wider Renewal scheme. The survey scope involved all interior and exterior building fabric and room-by-room fitout.
